I read in a horoscope by Susan Miller, that on 0916 I should do something creative. Between my rehearsals I rented a studio for 2 hours. I chose a 10 minutes long song which I heard for the first time (and fell in love) in summer 2016. I turned on the camera, put the music on and I decided to stand with my eyes closed until I feel that my body wants to move and then I would follow it. After a few seconds I felt something in my fingers and I saw an image. I started to pay more attention to it and stay with what is there. If it disappeared, I let it go and wait for a new thing to arise. With these 3 sentences in my head:
This is it.
It is what it is.
And this is enough.
After 10 minutes I had a video, I sent it to a dance competition. I won it and got an invitation to perform it on a festival in Lublin. There I got another invitation to perform it on a festival in Kraków. I also won another dance competition in Warsaw and it allowed me to use the money to go for a one week contact improvisation festival in Paris where I also spent my birthday. As my birthday wish I dreamt to get into the Master in Performing Arts Program at Iceland University of Arts in Reykjavik. And it came true! In 2019 I graduated with my solo performance “It’s already there”. It all started with going into the studio with no pressure of what’s going to happen. I cherish the journey it caused.
